My Canon printer provided me with years of reliable service until I purchased a replacement ink cartridge that was non Canon. Three months after installing the black cartridge my printer displayed "Wrong Cartridge" error message. I opened up the printer, removed the ink cartridges, and the print head. The print head had black ink all over it. I tried my best to clean up all the black ink, and then re-installed everything. The printer still displayed "Wrong Cartridge". I then power cycled the printer and when it came online, it appeared to be back to normal. I went to print a test page and then the printer began making sounds. It sounded like it was aligning the print head and the display read "printing". Moments later the printer shut off and no matter what I do, it will not power on again. I had to buy a new printer because the replacement cost for a new print head does not make financial sense when you can buy a printer at Walmart for . The bad ink was purchased from (4inkjets)
